The Electrical Communication Laboratories have developed a DIPS computer complex comprising a large scale, highly reliable, functionally distributed computer system. In this system, many computers are interconnected by dual 100 Mb/s optical fiber token ring networks. The system control processor manages system operations, system supervision, and system configuration control using a 48 kb/s coaxial loop network. This paper outlines the hardware configuration of the DIPS computer complex. (Edited author absract)
