摘要
In many polymer systems, limited mutual solubility of two polymers in a blend has led to some desirable properties. Unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) and thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers of various types were melt blended and then evaluated by d. s. c. density measurements, tensile stress/strain and differential interference contrast microscopy. In addition, the component polymers were subjected to viscosity measurements. Evidence suggesting limited compatibility was obtained, particularly for blends containing polyurethanes with soft-blocks based on poly(caprolactone).
