New statistic or random ethylene-propylene copolymers with good optical properties and improved impact resistance have been developed especially for blow molding of hollow articles and for thermoforming. A still unexplored field is the blow molding of hollow articles in bi-oriented polypropylene. This market could enjoy considerable growth if more economical machinery with greater yields could be made available. This article explores new avenues that are opened by this material.
