CYCLIC COMBUSTION VARIATION AND VIBRATION CHARACTERS IN A DIESEL ENGINE WITH ALCOHOL/DIESEL FUEL BLENDS.

The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the cyclic variation of combustion process and the engine vibration due to combustion of alcohol/diesel blends in the Indirect Diesel Engine. Six blending fuels, comprised of different alcohol/diesel volume ratio, were tested by measuring brake load, fuel consumption, combustion pressure, combustion vibration and exhaust emissions. The statistic data that include the maximum cylinder gas pressure, maximum rate of pressure rise, maximum heat release, etc. were calculated from the average of three hundred and sixty cycle measurements. Cyclic variation of maximum pressure and ignition delay, etc, were also analyzed.
