Modern state of European standardization of nondestructive testing of welded joints

The paper briefly describes European standards on nondestructive testing of welded structures. These standards can be used as the basis for the development of national standards. Updating the fund of European countries is 5-10 times higher than the updating of Russian standards. The standards include: visual control, radiography, magnetic powder testing ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing indications for defects of welded joints and others. The subject of the standards are the following materials: ferromagnetic steel, austenitic steel, Al, Ni, Cu and Ti. Data on ultrasonic testing of ferromagnetic steels are tabulated.
