The author reports on the significant developments in the manufacture of textile machinery in some countries. Czechoslovakia specializes in jet weaving; open-end spinning; manufacture of large/ small-diameter knitting machines; circular knitting; multiphase machines; air- and water-jet machines, Germany (DDR) built machineries for continuous-filament yarns and cotton-type processing plants; specialized in stitch-bonding technology, warp-knitting machines; blowroom equipment, drawframes and ringframes. Poland specialized in man-made-fibre production and machinery for processing wool-type fibers; had long-staple processing plants. Russia's interest was on multiphase weaving.
