Influence of Order - Disorder Transition on the Recrystallization Behaviors of a Cold Rolled FeCo Alloy

The recrystallization behavior of the alloy FeCo in the disordered state was investigated by annealing the 44 % cold rolled samples in the ordering and disordering temperature regions. It was shown that the recrystallization process at 750 °C in the disordering region was similar to that of bcc metals. The ordering process had been completed before recrystallization started during annealing at 720 °C and 620 °C in the ordering region, where the stable long range order parameter S was about 0.6 to 0.7 and 0.8 to 0.9, respectively. The ordering process before recrystallization produces an obvious recovery effect and reduces the defect density, which leads to a continuous recrystallization in the deformed matrix. The ordered structure reduced the mobility of grain boundary migration, and then increased the recrystallization time obviously. © 2000 Carl Hanser Verlag. All rights reserved.
