摘要
A current meter developed and constructed at the Hydrophysics Section of the Institute of Water Problems, USSR Academy of Sciences was used to measure velocity pulsations in the Kirzach River. Because the meter, sufficiently reliable for studying the large-scale portion of the turbulence spectrum, measured only longitudinal velocity, the paper includes an analysis of the measurement procedure and the application of the meter to the measurement problem. The results obtained show that the developed equipment is suitable for field investigations of flow characteristics, determined by the large-scale component of longitudinal velocity. The proposed relations permit estimating the error and selecting optimum measurement conditions. The results of the measurements confirm the presence of a standard deviation profile of longitudinal pulsations, referred to dynamic velocity, close to the universal profile, but give no reason to believe that disturbances of a scale exceeding depth exist in the structure.
