The process of dry sorption was successfully applied to relatively strongly polluted waste gases of periodically working frit melting kilns. Capacity was able to be enlarged by adding a cooling system upstream which made heat recovery possible. The heat gained was used for the controlled heating of drying chambers. Control and heat recovery led to a saving of gas which made an amortization time of 18 months possible.
