ANALOG MODULATION BY BINARY CIRCUITS.

摘要
Binary modulation processes such as asynchronous delta-sigma modulation, pulse-width modulation and delta-sigma modulation from which the original signal may be recovered by low-pass filtering can be modified to produce analog amplitude or frequency modulation. The use of logic gates as multipliers to produce amplitude modulation, as suggested elsewhere, is shown to present problems for linear applications and an effective alternative approach, simpler in concept but also requiring linearization, is described.
