Properties were evaluated before and after carburizing at 930 degree C, 1000 degree C and 1050 degree C. It has been observed that titanium acts as an effective grain-growth-restrainer even at elevated temperatures of carburizing. The beneficial effects due to titanium ore are more pronounced in plain carbon steel than in the carburizing-grade low alloy steels.
