摘要
Studies have shown that fixed-bed anaerobic filters with media ranging from small rock to highly porous plastic modules effectively treat various types and strengths of organic wastes. This study was divided into three phases based on test objectives. Phase 1 consisted of tests of modular corrogated crossflow media with three different specific surface areas but identical design configuration. A fourth reactor contained a modular media with corrugated sheets arranged to provide vertical tubes through which the wastewater must flow. Phase 2 involved the use of four reactors with media of the same specific surface area, but the media in each reactor was constructed so that the slopes of the media corrugations, and the defined flow channels, were different. The purpose f Phase 3 was to determine whether the effect of channel slope was related to specific surface area.
