The nonlinear interaction of electromagnetic waves in a plasma-filled waveguide is considered theoretically and experimentally. Nonlinearity is introduced into the calculation phenomenologically; allowance is made for the damping of the original and the decay waves and its influence on the amplitude of the eigenmode and driven components of the decay wave. The experiment is performed for the interaction of: a) an axially symmetric plasma-waveguide mode propagating along a cylindrical plasma column with the H//1//1 mode of a cylindrical metal waveguide, and b) of plasma-waveguide modes with each other. The dispersion properties and damping of both the original and the waves are measured in detail. On the basis of the results of the calculation some features of the wave interaction observed in the experiment are explained.
