This brief summary is concerned with a selection of the papers at the Nagoya Symposium. The physical problems involved include the relative importance of Stoner excitations, of spin fluctuations and of concentration fluctuations, and the appearance of local moments above and below T//c. The measurements which bear on these problems cover the whole range of magnetoelasticity to which this Symposium was devoted.
