Experiments have been carried out on two-phase flow of water and large gravel particles of three different sizes in a 42 mm internal diameter horizontal pipe. It has been established that the two-phase pressure drop is linearly related to the concentration of particles in the discharged suspension only when a moving bed is formed in the pipeline.
