Relying on the membrane theory of shells, a formula is obtained for determining the critical pressure, taking account of rib eccentricity. The position of the ″neutral surface″ is determined proceding from the condition of a potential energy minimum. Numerical examples are given. A comparison is made with the formula obtained earlier where it was assumed that the ″neutral surface″ passed through the center of gravity of the section. The difference in the critical pressure is insignificant.
