摘要
The mathematical formulation of the general reliability model for crack extension is based on treating the initial crack size, the growth rate, and the applied stress field as random variables. Obtaining first the probability of failure for a single crack as a function of the number of load applications, the reliability for the entire hull is then derived by considering specified zones of the potential crack growth. The required probability information for the implementation of the model is identified.
