Real time collision avoidance research for aircraft flying in space

摘要
In modern avionics, collision avoidance has become a standard requirement for all civil aircraft. The conflict in flight may result from (1) collision course, (2) unsafe course crossover, or (3) violating minimum separation in route. How to detect and avoid such dangerous flight situations has become an essential topic for study. An effective approach to foresee these crises is discussed. Applying geometry relationship between free moving particles in airspace can make conflict avoidance decision-policies be analyzed and determined if conflict occurs. The 3D flight behavior characteristic can be projected onto two planar mode of motion, By analytic geometry approach and Law of Sine method, two planar governing equations for collision avoidance can be derived. The combination of these governing equations with primitive constraints will be much benefit to discuss and determine the practicability of real time collision avoidance policies.
