Ni-, Cu-, and Co-containing minerals that occur in the deep sea, manganese nodules, can be selectively dissolved by means of pressure leaching with sulfuric acid. Paper describes the results of an experimental investigation and suggests a process flowsheet, whose economic feasibility has been already confirmed in respect to richer manganese nodules deposits.
