摘要
A compact magnetooptic disk drive compatible with current optical disk systems is reported. A tracking detection system suitable for use with add-on (nonerasable) optical disks was adopted. High-speed accessing was accomplished by constructing the head from both stationary and moving mechanisms. Noise analyses showed that for large analyzer angles THETA //A , the disk noise was larger than the laser noise which, in turn, was greater than the shot noise, but when the signal-to-noise ratio was maximum at THETA //A 10 degree , the three noise levels were roughly equal.
