摘要：
Inadequate reliability of lightning protection of high-voltage substations in mountainous areas is demonstrated. The possibility of application of improved lightning protection circuits, making use of valve arresters of general industrial design and nonlinear overvoltage limiters with improved protection characteristics is considered.
