An introduction to the basic principles of reverse osmosis, some of the applications which have been tried of the applications which hjave been tried and some of the recent studies on the theoretical nature of reverse osmosis. Review of literature presented deals with the development of new membranes, a physical model of reverse osmosis, and mathematical analysis of the process.
