摘要：
On the basis of the Boussinesq equations, a study is made of a spectral problem concerning the loss of stability of the equilibrium state of a rotating layer of viscous fluid subjected to temperature inversion. It is shown that a loss of stability can occur in the form of eddy currents localized around the rotation axis. Such currents simulate certain properties of waterspouts, tornadoes and other vortices.
