摘要
This paper presents a method for calculating radiant flux at any point in the space surrounding a flame. The analysis involves selecting a convenient origin for a cartesian coordinate system and representing the direction and magnitude of the boom, flame and wind by vectors. Postulated geometrical properties of a center of radiance are used to find a shape or view factor. Using the algorithms developed through analysis of the wind and flame vectors, a computer program was written to perform the repetitive, point-by-point calculations. Thus, the design engineer is able to find the radiant flux at selected points or grids of points about a flame as a function of: wind magnitude and direction; length, angle and orientation of flare boom; gas flow rate; and gas calorific value.
