Green-light optical storage properties of spin-coated thin film of AgTCNQ derivative

A novel electron transfer composite Ag-TCNQ (C2H4COOCH3)2 film is prepared with spin-coating. Absorption spectra, green-light (514.5 nm) static rewritable optical recording properties, and rewritable mechanism of this film are studied. The results show that there are two strong absorption peaks respectively at 388 nm and 675 nm, which can be assigned to electronic transitions in anion radical TCNQ (C2H4COOCH)2-. Typical experimental results are as follows: for λ = 514.5 nm, write-in power = 9 mW, pulse duration = 80 ns, erasing power = 4 mW, pulse duration = 500 ns, coefficient of contrast C > 15%, number of write - erase cycles N > 100. The switching mechanism of Ag-TCNQ (C2H4COOCH3)2 is discussed.
