摘要：
The digital factory idea is that every detail of the manufacturing process can be simulated before it happens. Its foundations were laid with numerical control (NC) programming, a discipline which developed fast as the size, speed, complexity and, therefore, expense of machine tools advanced to the point where programming them became too expensive to carry out on real machines. The digital factory also allows to simulate not just logistics, production and material flows, but specific engineering tasks, such as robot or machine programming.
