A catheter manufacturer has reduced its production costs by about 20% by using a double-sided tape. The article discusses the benefits that results from using the tape, as well as the production process. The two-sided, moisture-proof tape is made from a PVC closed-cell foam with 100% elongation. Even though the tape is thicker than conventional foam-backed tapes (1/8 in. vs. 1/16 in. ), it is 53% more elastic and spongy to provide added comfort and security for the end-user.
