摘要
The share of the chemical industry in the total volume of the industrial output of Armenia amounts of 11%. 80% of this output is produced by the following enterprises: Erevan ″Nairit″ production association, Kirovakan chemical plant, Kirovakan man-made fiber plant, and Erevan tire plant. Armenia produces about 150 types of chemical products: synthetic rubber, caustic soda, synthetic ammonia and fertilizers based on it, synthetic resins and plastics, man-made fibers, melamine, calcium carbide, calcium cyanimide, acetylene, chlorobenzene, varnishes and paints, chemical reagents, sulfuric, hydrochloric, nitric, acetic, formic, and propionic acids, car tires, rubber products, etc. The development of the chemical industry in Armenia is briefly surveyed and problems of its further growth are discussed. Its growth has been slowed down to 24. 2% in the period 1971-1975 owing to shortage of capital. The growth in the period 1976-1980 is expected to amount to 30. 2%. The industries processing chemical products are to be developed more rapidly than in previous years.
