摘要
Turkey is engaged on a massive programme of port modernization, financed by World Bank loans. The current round of investment focuses principally on the handling equipment for dedicated container terminals at four separate, strategically-located ports. The impetus to this modernization effort is to serve transit traffic flows and the needs of its own burgeoning foreign trade. This article discusses the current development in terms of the surge in efforts, political factors, and related subjects.
