This paper deals with the essential criteria which have to be taken into consideration, when selecting and operating thermostatic expansion valves in refrigeration plants with compressors. In it the demand for an oscillation-free control system is specially taken into account. Included in this paper is a perspicuous summary of the results an enquiry among valve manufacturers.
