The performance of heat exchanger tubing in CANDU (Canada Deuterium Uranium) reactors operating since May 1962 has been very satisfactory. Material changes have been adopted, however, to maintain this performance in the more demanding duty of stations now under construction and to minimize the impact of corrosion products on the operation of the moderator, primary and secondary water circuits.
