摘要
Both steel and wood are good building materials for large hall structures of all kinds. What is different is the emphasis on their tasks, whether it is functionality or aesthetics of a structure. The article gives an up-to-date survey of structural designs of steel hall structures and wooden hall structures, in particular of roofs and their supports. The purpose decides the structural design. Some examples of industrial plant buildings, warehouses, exhibition halls, recreation halls, airport buildings, covered swimming pools, etc. , built of steel or wood, are presented.
