A family of poly(benzyl ester) dendrimers are synthesized based on an orthogonal monomer approach. Using fast, high-yielding, and clean coupling reactions, large and perfect dendrimers of this type can be assembled quickly and easily. While these dendrimers clearly lack the chemical robustness of many of their predecessors, the facility with which they can be synthesized offsets many of these structural weaknesses.
