Lepton pair production in heavy-ion collisions in coulomb fields of two relativistic heavy ions in perturbation theory was studied. Analytical expressions were obtained for the differential cross section of the process in the lowest order in the fine-structure constant valid for any momentum transfer and in a wide kinematic region for produced particles. Results showed that expressions that were gauge invariant and finite were obtained by considering all relevant terms in the corresponding order.
