摘要
The U. S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Mines, as part of its program to conserve mineral resources through secondary resource recovery, determined the feasibility of recycling magnesite-chrome refractories from copper and steel furnaces. Physical and chemical beneficiation processes were investigated to remove contaminants prior to recycling. Samples of the beneficiated material were formed into briquets, and modulus of rupture (MOR) data were determined. Beneficiation of the waste steel furnace refractories consisted of crushing and magnetic separation. Physical beneficiation of the waste copper furnace refractories involved crushing, grinding, froth flotation, and magnetic separation.
