摘要：
The basic arc phenomena and characteristics of hollow cathode vacuum arc welding(HCVAW) are studied. Two different shapes of vacuum arc are diffused arc and contracted arc. Spectroscopic diagnostics of the HCVAW arc showed that the spectrum is consisted of Ar I and Ar II lines. The influence of argon flow, arc length, the inner diameter of hollow cathode on the voltage- ampere characteristics are discussed.
