Results are presented on the effects of the amount and type of inoculant on fluidity and viscosity of 5182 alloy. Grain refinement problems encountered in the production of Zr-containing alloys are discussed. Efforts to develop a test sample, which provides a good correlation with the incidence of feathering in ingots of Zr-containing aluminum alloys are described.
