An innovative product is one which significantly alters, for the better, the way in which a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure is carried out, or allows an entirely new procedure to be performed. This article discusses the title subject in terms of the development of an entirely new (hypothetical) product and examines the costs involved in bringing such a product to the market.
