New methods of fabrication of investment casting shells

The methods of fabrication of the investment casting shells and effects of materials used on environment are analyzed. In order to solve an ecological problem, the fabrication of monolayered electrophoretic shells without application of electrolytes-chargers is suggested. The fused and dust quartz in different ratios is material of shells. Optimum humidity of shell is equal to 6-15%. An influence of phoretic suspension composition and intensity of electric field on shell strength is defined. It is inferred that the use of electrophoretic forming method provides the shell controlled thickness and needed properties.
