Methods of X-ra diffraction analysis were applied to built isothermal section of the Yb-Fe-Ge system state diagram at 670 K on the basis of phase equilibria study for 900 alloys. Binary compounds revealed in the system practically do not dissolve the third component. The formation of five previously known ternary germanides is confirmed and one new compound is uncovered (Yb9Fe10Ge10). Compositions and crystallochemical properties of ternary germanides are represented. The Yb-Fe-Ge system is concluded to be close to the Tm-Fe-Ge system in composition and structure of ternary compounds.
