摘要
The mechanism of pore formation was investigated in order to obtain dense air-cooled slag and granulated slag. A method of solidifying molten slag that reduces pores has been established based on the results of this investigation. The pores in air-cooled slag are formed by the gases generated by the reaction of the nitrogen dissolved in slag with air and water. Dense slag can be manufactured by employing a cooling pit with an inclined and smooth base, flowing molten slag into this pit in thin multiple layers, and limiting the use of cooling water.
