Submersible electric pumps have been with us for a number of years, but have often been regarded with suspicion concerning their safety and reliability, due to the immersion of the electric motor in water. Gianfranco Fagnani of Aturia shows how the previous shortcomings have been dealt with, to produce designs having complete safety and reliability and sometimes the ability to supplant other kinds of pumps in uses for which they have not previously been intended.
