摘要
A new design for an offshore oil/gas production platform has been developed by the Japan Ocean Industries Association. The platform is a hybrid-type guyed tower with a concrete caisson base. Both base and tower are installed without pilings; and articulation is provided by pads on the tower's base which slide on a spherical pedestal supported by the concrete caisson. The low cost of this platform makes marginal oil fields in coastal waters off Japan economical in 150 to 300-m (490 to 980-ft) water depths.
