摘要
A method called the two-step expansion is proposed by which it is possible to construct a general theoretical solution for an isotropic-elastic rectangular thin plate with an arbitrarily varying thickness. A detailed study is made on the general solution and some special cases of rectangular thin plates with four sides simply supported/clamped, and with two opposite sides simply supported and others involving free edges. Numerical examples are presented to verify the efficiency of the present method.
