THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS: A NEW PICTURE EMERGES.

This article surveys the changing TPE field using the traditional five generic classifications (plus PVC), a method that new alloying technologies makes more and more difficult by the day. This article will also concentrate on materials used for molding and extrusion most TPE's also find use as impact modifiers and other types of additives for other polymers. The five generic classes of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE's) are: styrenics; olefinic blends and alloys; polyurethanes; copolyesters; and polyamides.
