摘要：
Defective end rings were subjected to metallographic, chemical, and mechanical material tests. The results of these investigations show that the formation of cracking is attributable in the defective item examined to stress corrosion. The cause was incorrect treatment of the generator rotor end bell while in storage following fire damage.
