Managing supply chain opportunities

Semiconductor equipment makers are looking long and hard at supply chains to cut their costs. In the process, the definition of the supply chain is shifting through a widening range of approaches. There are proposal to re-engineer an integrated four-layer supply chain project from top-tier planning down to operations, achieving a 66% reduction is sales planning cycle time. In contrast, Finnish road equipment supplier Nordberg talked of using i2T's Rhythm software for reliable equipment configuration as well as the reduction of customer spares holdings.
