摘要
Symmetrical clipping networks which simultaneously come under the influence of several sinusoidal signals, introduce an expansion factor to the separation in level between the output components, over and above the limiting effect of the overall power transmitted. These properties have been used to make twin-frequency signal transmitters used in noisy circuits and signal units which have one or two acoustic frequencies which comply with CCITT conditions, but which differ from previous models in that the lock circuits become inoperative for protection against speech triggered effects; they also play a part in the operation of carrier wave convertors used in source equipment and modulators, in that they facilitate the elimination of disturbing carrier signals. The present article analyses these properties, which are generally little known in clipping networks under the influence of two sinusoidal signals such that the sum of their amplitudes is higher by far then the clipping voltage, and defines the provisos to be borne in mind in order to obtain satisfactory functioning under these conditions.
