DESIGN OF MATERIALS FOR USE UNDER EROSION/CORROSION CONDITIONS AT HIGH TEMPERATURES IN COAL GASIFICATION AND COAL COMBUSTION SYSTEMS.

摘要
The existence of threshold velocity/kinetic energy conditions will be investigated by exposing ten state-of-the-art alloys, along with AISI 304, to erosion in a simulated fluidized-bed combustor off-gas. Alloys which form tenacious oxide films or poorly-adherent scales will be eroded. Runs will be conducted at room temperature in argon on materials chosen to permit a test of predictive erosion models. The materials are Be, Fe, Ni, Cu, Al, and Pb.
