Investigations of the operation of air-conditioning and heating and ventilating systems in high-speed surface craft have revealed that actual heat-transfer coefficients for the enclosing structures of passenger spaces are in considerable disagreement with calculated values. An account of investigations into the operation of hydrofoil air-conditioning is given. Overall heat transfer coefficients are formulated.
